ANNUAL SERVICE OFFICERS TRAINING CONFERENCE

The WV Division of Veterans Affairs hosts the Annual WV Service Officers Training Conference in May of each year. This annual event is held in coordination with the US Department of Veterans Affairs and all active veterans organizations in West Virginia. Last year the conference was has held at Camp Dawson, Robert C. Byrd training facility located near Kingwood, West Virginia. This conference is designed to instruct all veteran organization officers, especially service officers, regarding their commitment to counsel and assist veterans in obtaining benefits. Conference attendees receive intensified classroom instruction from US Department of Veterans Affairs employees in the areas of compensation/pension, appeals/personal appearances, vocational rehabilitation, medical and insurance benefits, and the WV Veterans Home.
